Ethereum 2.0: Switching to Proof-of-Stake (PoS)

Ethereum is transitioning from a proof-of-work (PoW) consensus mechanism to a more eco-friendly proof-of-stake (PoS) consensus with the switch expected to be complete by Q3/Q4 2022.
